Build A Tate's Way

As a native of the Outer Banks, Grant Tate spent the majority of his childhood learning the commercial fisherman lifestyle. With his OBX ancestral roots dating back to the 1800's, Grant's family instilled a deep respect for living off the land and waterways. Grant's strong passion for hunting and fishing nursed a desire to become a chef and impart his knowledge of the land to the local restaurant industry. Grant spent years helping multiple companies manage their businesses until he developed an undeniable inclination to start a business of his own. Use to working with his hands, construction became a natural fit to satisfy a need for southern hospitality with an attention to detail. Grant's expertise is constructing wooden decks, installing fences and restoring native Outer Banks landscapes. In 2022, Grant married the love of his life, Loreigh. Together they co-own a power washing and hydroseeding company, HydrOBX, which was also established in the Outer Banks. Grant's servant leadership qualities enable him to network seamlessly within the community. If Grant's not at work, on a boat, on- or off-shore fishing, in the kitchen (or a local restaurant), or hunting in a tree stand, you can guarantee he'll be asking someone how he can help. 

Brandon, commonly referred to by his last name, "Copeland", was born in Suffolk, VA. Copeland developed a love for the restaurant industry at a young age. With influence from his mother, Copeland worked in the restaurant industry for nearly 10 years, meeting Grant Tate along the way in the Outer Banks. With an eye for detailed work and acceptance of a new challenge, Copeland ventured into the construction field shortly after Grant established ATW Construction Services. Copeland specializes in custom trim millwork and worked faithfully to become Crew Leader for the company. He even recruited his half-brother, Dallas Colyer, into the team to give ATW a competitive edge with electrical services. In his spare time, Copeland enjoys the simple things in life such as a good classic Kubrick film or lounging in a hammock under an ocean pier. Copeland aspires to hone his craft in custom millwork and strengthen permanent roots in the Outer Banks area.   

Robert "Dallas" Colyer was born in Franklin, VA and is the younger half-brother of Brandon Copeland. Alike Copeland, Dallas started his work career in the restaurant industry. Traveling and moving often with his family, Dallas gained a diverse 10-year experience in construction and restaurant businesses. Dallas specializes in electrical installation with ambition to become a certified electrician. With a strong work ethic alined with ATW's values, Dallas officially moved to the Outer Banks and joined the crew in 2023. Dallas is a family-oriented man with a desire to establish long-term roots within the community. In his personal time, Dallas enjoys recreational softball and bowling. He attributes his success by the support and love of his family. Dallas' aspirations include starting a family of his own and sharpening his skill in the electrical field.
